I am an Islander, born and raised in Puerto Rico. Son of Gumersindo
(Uma) Carmona Rivera and Olga Sánchez Alicea.

I moved to the State of Florida at the age of 15. I continued to visit the
Island every summer since I was 19. I have worked as an intern for a
member of  the House of Representative and the Senate of Puerto Rico.
I received my Juris Doctor,
cum laden, from the Pontifical Catholic
University of Puerto Rico School of Law in Ponce on 2008.

I am proud alumni of the International Law Programs from the University
of Tulsa College of Law hold in London, Fall 2006 and The College of
William and Mary School of Law hold in Madrid, summer 2006.

I received my Masters of Arts in Spanish [Filología] in 2005, two
Bachelors:  Legal Studies and Spanish, and a Spanish/English
Translation Certificate in 2003 from the University of Central Florida. I
graduated from Oviedo High School, class of 1998.
During the Fall 2007, I had the opportunity to work as a judicial clerk for U.S. District Judge Domínguez for
the First District. I have just completed a semester working as a criminal student attorney [abogado
estudiante] for the
Legal Clinic at P.U.C.P.R. Law School.  My law review article titled Rights of Treasure

Poetry is the
key to genuine
freedom.
Poetry
A poem expresses your inner self
or shadows it to the world. As a
poet, I look at the symbolism of the
word though the mystery a verse
can entails. The following poems
where presented in colloquiums in
Florida, Panamá and Puerto Rico:
Desmayo Despierto         Sin ti
Soledad                           Confesión
I am currently in negociations to
open my law office with two
partners in Puerto Rico

I will be taking the Florida  Bar
Examination this July.

I will be taking the Federal Court for
the District of Puerto Rico Bar
Examination next March.

Wish me the best of luck and have
me in your prayers so I can
approve both bars test on the first
time.

power elite. The White House portrays Sotomayor as a living image of the American dream, though its
telling of the rags-to-riches story emphasizes the rags, a more politically appealing narrative, and plays
down the riches. Read more
