SPN 1121 is a class that requires from you a commitment. The syllabus is designed to expose you to the Spanish
language as much as possible. Once you print your syllabus, please read it carefully. You must bring it to class. A
dictionary is mandatory.

Elementary Spanish II is the second semester of the one-year
Elementary Spanish Language and Civilization
sequence.  In this course, the student will continue acquiring knowledge of Spanish
grammar and culture.  The
course emphasizes oral proficiency as well as the remaining language modalities: listening, reading and writing
comprehension.
If you are fluent in Spanish or have a strong Spanish language background this class is NOT for
you.

SPN 1121 is a course that combines traditional face to face classroom instruction with online computer-based
learning. In this course students will have three hours in class (face to face) and one hour of scheduled
responsibilities online. Students should expect substantial commitment and study in and out of class. The level of
proficiency you attain will depend on you as the student.
This course will require self-discipline and time.

Prerequisite
: SPN 1121C is open to students who have completed SPN 1120, SPN 1120C or its equivalent. Please
consult an advisor in the Modern Language Department, if you have questions regarding your proficiency.

SPN 1120 is a class that requires commitment. The syllabus is designed to expose you to the Spanish language
as much as possible. Once you print your syllabus, please read it carefully. You must bring it to class. A dictionary

Elementary Spanish I is an entry-level course open to students with
little or no experience with the Spanish
language.  The course is designed to progressively introduce students to the Spanish language and the many
facets of Hispanic culture. It emphasizes oral proficiency in addition to developing the other language modalities:
listening, reading, and writing. In this course, you will develop your ability to communicate at a novice level in
Spanish in everyday practical situations and you will acquire some of the skills necessary for effective reading and
writing in Spanish.
If you are fluent in Spanish, took more than two Spanish classes in High School or have a
strong Spanish language background this class is NOT for you.

SPN 1120 is a course that combines traditional face-to-face classroom instruction with online computer-based
